5 Things to Know Before Your First Jeuveau Treatment

1. Jeuveau relaxes your facial muscles

Jeuveau is an FDA‑approved neuromodulator made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, similar to Botox®, but designed exclusively for cosmetic use. It’s used to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles, softening your skin and helping you look more youthful.

Jeuveau is most commonly used to treat frown lines between the eyebrows, also called glabellar lines or “11 lines.”

2. You can prepare ahead of time

To help minimize excessive bruising from the procedure, avoid alcohol, caffeine, fish oil, and vitamin E for 3-7 days before your appointment. You should also stay away from NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as aspirin and ibuprofen, that thin your blood.

3. The procedure is quick and easy

An injection typically takes about 15 minutes, so you can fit it in during your lunch hour. Discomfort is minimal (you’ll feel a small pinch), and it’s a non-surgical procedure, so you won’t have any downtime afterwards and can return to your daily activities.

4. Results take time

The treatment is quick, but results take a little longer. You may start to notice improvement in 3-5 days, with full results coming in 7-14 days as the medication gradually relaxes the targeted muscles, allowing your skin to smooth out.
